Enjoy with a bulletproof coffee or keto Starbucks drink for the ultimate morning meal. And if you like keto banana recipes but prefer a more portable version, try keto banana muffins instead.

This keto friendly banana bread uses a blend of premium low carb flours to get the right density and moistness in your loaf, like the real thing. Sometimes you really need to use a blend of flours to get that “just right” texture, and this is one of those times. The wet/dry ingredient ratio is important here because that’s what ensure the right texture. Wholesome Yum Blanched Almond Flour and Wholesome Yum Coconut Flour are both super finely milled and create the perfect consistency.

And, we’re using Besti sweetener for this bread, because not only does it taste just like sugar (without sugar alcohols!), it also helps to seal in moisture so your bread won’t be dry. Other sweeteners won’t do that!

Traditional banana bread is not suitable for keto, as it’s made with white flour, sugar, and bananas. This low carb banana nut bread recipe

Although bananas aren’t keto friendly, here are tons of keto banana bread recipes out there, but none of them come close to achieving the flavor and texture required.

By the way, if you want to try other banana recipes with a low carb twist, try keto banana pancakes or banana pudding.

Super Moist Banana Bread

If you’ve made any of my other keto recipes before, you’ve probably got all the ingredients on hand. If not, you can easily find these at your local grocery store. Here is what you’ll need to make them:

To make this keto banana bread recipe, you just need to follow a simple 3-step process and just have two mixing bowls on hand.

Start by mixing your dry ingredients, and set them aside. In another mixing bowl, add your melted butter and sweetener and whisk together, until glossy. Add in the eggs, followed by the yogurt, and finally the banana extract. Combine the wet and dry ingredients, and mix until combined.

Next, transfer your banana bread into a loaf pan and cover with tin foil. Covering the pan with tin foil prevents the top from over-cooking and traps in extra heat so the middle cooks evenly.

Now, bake the banana bread for 45-50 minutes, removing the foil for the final 15 minutes. Remove from the oven and allow to cool in the pan completely, before slicing.

While delicious on its own, you can add mix-ins or change up the flavor with a few simple tweaks. Personally, I love adding walnuts and chocolate chips!

Bananas are not keto friendly and not recommended to enjoy even in small amounts. While a healthy fruit with plenty of vitamins and nutrients, they are primarily carbs and contain smaller amounts of fiber. The carbs in bananas are primarily sugar.

1 medium banana can contain around 32 grams of carbs, with 16 grams of sugar. For some people, that is close to their daily limit of net carbs!

This keto banana bread is a low carb and sugar free take on the classic quick bread! Made with almond flour and banana extract, it's moist and tender and tastes like the real thing!

Sugar Free Low Carb Banana Bread (nut Free, Keto, Gluten Free)

I’m a two time cookbook author, photographer, and writer, and passionate about creating easy and healthier recipes. I believe you don’t need to be experienced in the kitchen to make good food using simple ingredients that most importantly, taste delicious.Moist and super simple to make: this keto banana bread is perfect for breakfast or as an afternoon snack. It is gluten free, grain free and only 4.4g net carbs per slice. A low carb banana bread that's a hit with the whole family, low carb or not!

There's lots of people around who will tell you bananas are not allowed when you're eating low carb. Here's what I think: A banana is high in sugar and carbs. But if you're choosing your recipe wisely, you can enjoy all the banana taste without actually letting your blood sugar rocket sky-high.

Most low carb banana bread recipes use banana extract instead of a real banana. This obviously keeps the carb count really low. But I think you'll never get close to the taste of a proper banana flavor with extracts, not to mention the wonderful moist texture of real banana bread.

Almond Flour Banana Bread

Bananas have a very intense flavour. ½ a cup of mashed banana - that's one large banana or 2 small ones - is enough to create a bread that's low in carbs and low in sugars. This keto banana bread recipe contains ⅛ of a banana (I'd say that is about 1 bite) and 4.4 grams of net carbs per slice.

Quick note - I'm calling this recipe sugar free banana bread because I'm using erythritol instead of added sugar, honey or maple syrup. It comes in at 2.7 grams of (natural) sugars per slice, which is equivalent to just over ½ teaspoon.

1.) Put the eggs, mashed banana and melted butter in a large mixing bowl. Blend until smooth and frothy with an electric mixer.

TIP: It is ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL to use an overripe banana in this recipe. It should have lingered in your fruit basket forever and have brown specks on the skin.

2.) Stir together the dry ingredients - almond flour, erythritol, cinnamon and baking powder - in a separate bowl. Then add to the egg mix.

I used a golden erythritol monk fruit sweetener in the images, which is a brown sugar replacement. But any granulated sweetener will work, from Splenda to stevia.

5.) Fill into a bread tin lined with parchment paper and bake in the oven for 40 minutes. It's done if a toothpick inserted comes out without crumbs sticking. Cool on a wire rack.

Tip: Check after 30 minutes to see if the banana bread is browned already. If so, cover loosely with aluminium foil for the last 10 minutes to prevent burning. (I covered my bread at minute 35 and found that it was browned a little much for my liking.)

Instead of nuts, you could add sugar free chocolate chips instead. It's easy to make your own. Alternatively, use chopped dark chocolate with a cocoa content of at least 85 % or a brand like Lily's.
