The base of your bread dough with this recipe will be made using a combination of almond flour and arrowroot flour. These are they key ingredients that help to keep this recipe completely paleo-friendly as they each make an excellent replacement for refined wheat flour. Not only is refined wheat a known inflammation trigger, but once the wheat grains go through the refinement process, they also lose the vast majority of their nutritional benefits. Refined flour has a much lower fiber content and loses a large percentage of the antioxidants found in whole grains. (1)
So with that in mind, the first step of this recipe is to mix your almond and arrowroot flours together with your salt and active dry yeast. With that out of the way, combine your honey and warm water in a separate bowl. Honey is another one of my favorite paleo baking ingredients, acting as a wonderful natural sweetener while also being packed full of nutritional benefits. It’s an antioxidant powerhouse that also helps to give you a nice all natural energy boost as well.
Add your honey mixture in with your flour mixture, and then also add in the lightly beaten egg whites, olive oil, and apple cider vinegar and mix them together until you have a dough-like texture. The addition of olive oil and ACV really helps to round out the nutritional content of your bread mixture. The olive oil adds a potent amount of heart-healthy monounsaturated fatty acids, while the ACV provides some great benefits for both your cardiovascular and digestive health. (2)
Bread Rolls (vegan, Paleo, Keto)
Once your bread dough has taken shape, you’re going to want to cover it with a plastic wrap for about 30 minutes in order to let the yeast do its thing. Then transfer it to a baking sheet, cut a few long lines along the top, and then bake the bread until it’s slightly brown. When you take it out of the oven, let it cool for a few moments and then go ahead and enjoy this delightfully flaky baked bread. Whenever I bake it, I like to either use it to make some tasty paleo sandwiches or I make it alongside a tasty homemade hummus dip. This is a game-changer for bread-lovers.
PS. This crusty French bread recipe isn’t the only type of homemade paleo bread that I love to bake. Here are a few of my other favorite paleo-friendly bread recipes that you absolutely must try:This easy Paleo bread is easy to make, versatile, and soft and fluffy! It has the perfect texture for toast, sandwiches, and more. This grain free bread is made completely in a blender and baked to golden perfection!
Almond flour is a common Paleo baking flour. It is slightly nutty, hearty and delicious. There is no perfect substitute for almond flour.
Vegan Almond Flour Soda Bread {gluten Free, Oil Free}
Tapioca flour adds a chewy texture to this grain free bread. Cornstarch (not Paleo) and arrowroot powder are direct substitutes if needed.
Ground flaxseed also adds a great texture. Flaxseeds are hailed as a superfood. They are loaded with nutrients, fiber, and omega 3 fatty acids.
Six eggs go into this quick bread. The eggs are vital in creating a soft fluffy texture. Do not replace eggs with flax eggs, chia eggs, or any other Vegan egg replacement.
Southern In Law: Recipe: Paleo Garlic And Herb Bread (healthy & Yeast Free!)
Olive oil adds a great flavor and helps sightly thin out the batter. Avocado oil can replace olive oil if needed. I used Bona Furtuna olive oil which is the highest quality!
Room temperature coconut oil is a delicious baking fat. Use coconut oil that is solid, but not cold or melted. Refined coconut oil has a neutral flavor, while unrefined coconut oil has a slight coconut flavor. Use whichever you prefer.
Honey adds a hint of natural sweetness. If desired, maple syrup or date syrup can be used in its place. I wouldn’t suggest leaving it out entirely. Otherwise, this bread would be very savory!
The Best Low Carb Yeast Bread
Apple cider vinegar reacts with the baking soda to really help this bread rise. Unlike most of my baking recipes, the goal with this bread was to have it rise considerably.
In this grain free bread recipe, both almond flour and tapioca flour contribute to the dough. Almond flour adds a great flavor while the tapioca flour adds chewiness.
The flaxseeds gives this bread some substance. Unlike other Paleo baked goods, this bread needs to be strong enough to withstand the toaster, toppings and sandwich fillings.
Best Ever Paleo Chestnut Bread
Since Paleo baking can sometimes yield dry and bland baked goods, the eggs are super important. The six eggs yield a soft and fluffy final result.
First, preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a 9 inch by 5 inch loaf pan with parchment paper. Lightly spray inside with nonstick spray.
Add all ingredients to a blender or food processor. Blend until completely mixed. Batter will be thick. If needed, stop and scrape down sides of blender occasionally and then continue blending.
Paleo Flatbread (naan)
Bake uncovered for 38 to 40 minutes or until top of bread is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.
Remove bread from oven. Allow bread to cool for 30 minutes in pan. Then carefully remove bread from pan and allow it to cool another 30 minutes.
While blending, stop and scrape down sides of blender if needed. This is a lot of ingredients for one blender and it can be tough to get the batter fully blended. I used my Vitamix and had to stop it twice to scrape down the sides to get it fully mixed.
How To Make Paleo Bread Without Yeast
Allow the bread to cool before slicing and serving. It is tempting to dig in immediately, but the bread needs to cool down first.
Serve grain free bread once it has cooled. Make almond butter and jelly sandwiches, make it into toast, or use it as the base of French toast. It is also great with Whole30 Egg Salad and Whole30 Chicken Salad!
Store bread in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. Store in fridge for up to 5 days.

I have a feeling that this is probably not your first time seeing Paleo bread recipes on the internet but to make paleo bread soft, fluffy, low carb, and with a light toasted whole wheat aroma is probably worth writing about. 🙂
Even my husband, Nate, who’s a bread lover likes this Paleo Sandwich Bread recipe. He said this is the type of bread he’d reach in the fridge to get a second slice. Since I’m not much of a bread or cake baker, I kept the recipe really simple with minimal ingredients. If I can do it, you can absolutely, too!

Healthy 5 Minute Gluten Free Paleo Bread
Active dry yeast needs to be dissolved in water before using and instant dry yeast can be mixed right into dry ingredients. The yeast helps the dough to rise and makes the bread soft and less dense.
According to the Kitchn, active dry yeast and instant dry yeast are interchangeable. However, active dry yeast may be slower to rise. If a recipe calls for Instant dry yeast and you use active dry yeast, you might need to add an extra 10-15 minutes bake time for the bread to rise.
Instant dry yeast and active dry yeast are gluten-free. There are other types of yeast that may not be gluten-free. For example, Brewer’s yeast (unless it’s specified gluten-free on the label) and yeast extract. You can read more information from this article here.
Low Carb Almond Flour Bread (gluten Free, Dairy Free)
