One thing to note is that while it is insanely soft and fluffy on the inside, the top of it does get a bit crispy and makes it taste a bit like a biscuit. Nothing wrong with that, just wanted you to know.

Apple cider vinegar helps with the rise and the softness of the bread; however, not everyone likes a super soft sandwich bread and so if that’s you, we would recommend omitting it. Otherwise, add it!

Vegan Naan Bread (no Yeast, No Oil)

You can use any non-dairy milk in this recipe. We do recommend that you stay away from strong flavors like coconut, banana, etc.

The only ingredient that we need to worry about is the flour as any dairy free milk can be used, so just use one safe for your allergies.

We have not tested this recipe with gluten free flour, but based on other testing it should work, it would just again be more dense as gluten free flour has a tendency to be.

Maybe even faster! It’s the perfect accompaniment for family pasta night!!!

Pasta is on heavy rotation in my house. We probably have some sort of pasta dish every week. It’s fast. It’s delicious. It’s a great way to add veggies to a meal without it being super obvious. Everyone is happy—especially me! Pasta was a go to meal for my family when I was a kid as well. My mom would serve up pasta with marinara (and there’s a long story behind that….), a random fruit or vegetable side dish (I kid you not, it was often bananas….with spaghetti!), and garlic bread. Always garlic bread. She would buy the kind that you could get in the freezer section with the garlic butter already melted inside, and wrapped in a foil bag. I’m sure every American kid that grew up in the 80’s is totally familiar with it! Pop it in the oven while the pasta boils and out comes garlic bread perfection! I’ve worked over the past few months to veganize this popular bread, and I think I’ve finally nailed it. Easy VEGAN garlic bread. And it’s absolutely delicious!

Easy Yeast Free Bread [vegan, Gluten Free]

Easy vegan garlic bread is just that—EASY! It comes together in just minutes, and then warms up in the oven for 10 more. On the table in under 15 minutes! I whip up a quick schmear of nooch, garlic powder, salt, pepper, oregano, olive oil, and dairy free milk. The milk helps carry the sauce without using too much oil. The garlic powder works better than fresh, as it mixes in better, and doesn’t leave a harsh taste in your mouth. A little bit of S&P for seasoning. Nooch for cheesiness without the cheese. Oregano to make it “fancy.” (side note, I totally forgot the oregano when I made the bread for these pics—whoops. Totally works without it, but it’s better with the oregano!).

Lately my kids have been obsessed with the Food Network, watching endless episodes of Kids’ Baking Champion and Buddy vs. Duff. There’s a narrator on the later, and my boys sit there saying “we know, nooch, just let us see the cakes!” For whatever reason, they think “nooch” is a really funny name to call someone. However, nooch really means nutritional yeast. Nutritional yeast, aka nooch, is a flakey powder with a savory cheesy taste to it. It’s a great sub for parmesan, and definitely adds a bit of umami flavor.

This easy vegan garlic bread has been such a huge hit with my kids. A few weeks ago we had some friends over for dinner, so I made a double batch—two huge baguettes. Each adult took two pieces, and then became engrossed in our conversation, while we tuned out the noisy ruckus of our kids. A few minutes later we turned back to help ourselves to seconds, only to find that the kids had finished every last slice of bread. Every single one. So yeah, it’s a kid fave for sure!

Super Seedy Grain Free Bread (vegan Gf) Nourishing Amy

Pasta is my go to for a garlic bread accompaniment! Such a perfect pairing! Although it would be a great side with so many meals! Here are some of my favorites:

Most good breads are naturally vegan! Bread should really just have flour, salt, yeast, water, and sugar in it. I really love to get the Boulart brand that I can find at my Whole Foods. It’s SO good! I also really like the ciabatta bread at Trader Joe’s! But any vegan baguette will do….and that should be most of them!

If you prefer not to use foil you may be able to wrap the bread in parchment paper and have similar results, though I haven't tested it this way.  It's important to try to seal up the bread a bit to keep the steam inside!
