Here is an easy way to use up the bananas on the countertop, or brown ones thrown in the back of the freezer. Don’t overmix the ingredients, and make sure the bananas are very ripe. —Julia Moskin

Miso Pecan Banana Bread Recipe
My new go to recipe. Add a teaspoon of vanilla, reduce brown sugar to half cup, and swap out half of white flour for whole wheat. Yum.
Made this for my boyfriend and he can’t stop smiling from ear to ear and giving mad praises for this recipe. I made a few alterations though: added a teaspoon of nutmeg and cinnamon, two tablespoons of freshly grated ginger, and a teaspoon of vanilla extract to the butter and sugar while creaming. I’ve learned that the spices and flavors are heightened and taste more when it’s added to the butter while creaming instead of adding it/them to the batter at the last minute. Overall, a great recipe
If your bananas aren’t very ripe, you can place them on a foil covered baking sheet in the oven for 10-15 minutes at 300 until the skins turn black. It releases the sugar and makes them perfect for baking.
Cinnamon Crunch Banana Bread Recipe
Good recipe ... my banana bread frequently turns out gooey in the center, even when dark brown on top & sides. This recipe yielded bread evenly baked clear through.
Made a lot of banana bread in my day. I like this recipe BUT I never have 5 overripe bananas on hand. I have more like 2-3. So I've learned that this recipe works very well if you sub in unsweetened apple sauce for whatever volume of banana pulp you are lacking.
I've made many banana breads over the years and this is one of the best. I just happened to have 5 frozen bananas. I let them defrost while my eggs and butter came to room temperature. The banana bread was ready in 55 minutes, not 65. It was so light that it was almost spongy and the aroma of the banana permeated the cake. I think the topping really adds to it, in both appearance and taste. Also, it gets better on day 2 and perhaps day 3, but it was eaten up.
Banana Bread By Cook's Illustrated
Delicious and easy to make. I added one cup of chocolate chips to the batter just before pouring into the pan. Bread was moist, firm and tasty.
I wish I paid better attention to this review regarding the time. I baked mine for 60 minutes and while the banana bread is tasty, we found it dry. It is remedied by spreading cream cheese. I would cook again, use a bit less sugar and start testing for doneness at 50 minutes.
I added cranberry/raisin/almonds/sunflower seeds trail mix (Walmart) for some texture and taste (1/2 cup). If you don't have enough bananas, you can add some yogurt, 1/2 cup as a replacement for a banana. You may need a little more flour.

Air Fryer Banana Nut Bread
This came out of the oven looking beautiful. I took it over to a friends house for nourishment during their Dungeons & Dragons gaming. Received an Email the next day reporting that it was the best banana bread recipe any of them had ever tasted. Now that is an endorsement.
I made this as directed I cooked this 55-60 minutes crusty outside, tastes delicious. I noticed some holes and unevenness, I will sift dry ingredients next time. Will try again.
I used two fresh and three frozen bananas in this recipe. I also only used 1/2 cup of sugar and added 1 tsp of vanilla and 1 tsp of cinnamon to the batter. The bread smells and tastes lovely, very banana, but the texture is just a bit on the rubbery side. I wonder if I should have drained the liquid that had separated from the bananas as they thawed? I mixed it all together. I tried not to over mix the batter, but maybe…
Nutella Banana Bread Recipe
Boring and dry. Cooked as written except I added the pecans in the batter instead of on top and cut sugar by 1/4 cup. 55 minutes was too long. Needed vanilla or lemon or something. Might try the easy banana bread recipe elsewhere on this app that adds sour cream. That might help
Made these as breakfast muffins. Probably like you, I had a bunch of 7 bananas that were way overripe, maybe like you had a bunch of folks coming for a big sleepover. Doubled the recipe and quickly realized that 7 bananas were barely over 2 cups so I added a can of crushed pineapple. Also threw in some chopped up ghiardelli chocolate bars, one semi sweet and one dark. Baked these for 20-25 minutes ( I have an industrial muffin tin that makes huge muffins) SO GOOD!

Make sure you have enough bananas. Otherwise I had only 3 medium bananas, so I cut the flour in half (used only 1 cup of flour) and added 2 Tbsp of yogurt along with cinnamon and vanilla. The banana bread was very moist and flavorful with these proportions. When I baked with 4 bananas and followed the exact measurements, it wasn’t as good. My experiences….
Chocolate Banana Bread Recipe
An amazing recipe! It turned out great even though I only added 1 cup of flour instead of 2 as the recipe prescribes. I kept kicking myself when I realized that I had mucked it up. But it tasted wonderful soft moist. The addition of vanilla and cinnamon really made a huge difference
Gotta get an over thermometer because this took FOREVER to bake for me. Do you think using a ceramic baking dish impacted it?
Substitute 3tbsp of flour for ground flax seed, especially if going gluten free with Bob’s Redmill 1for 1 gf flour substitution, which works great!
Ultimate Banana Bread
I made this with a few substitutions: vegan (using vegan butter and Just Egg), 4 bananas, and 2/3 c of brown sugar instead of 3/4 c, and I made my topping with chopped pecans, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, brown sugar, and flake salt. Overall, the bread is perfectly moist, and it got an unexpectedly high rise while baking. The topping was perfect. The flavor of the bread is a little underwhelming, though - agree with other reviewers that it would benefit from adding spices to the batter.

I added a squeeze of lemon 1/3 of a lemon, a teaspoon of vanilla, and replaced two bananas with about 1/2 cup of sour cream (was still about 2 1/3 cup). This recipe uses four bananas, which is more than is typical for a single loaf. The natural sugars from the ripe, brown bananas keep the bread incredibly moist for up to one week, even sliced. The high moisture of the batter can make it tricky to determine doneness, so take care not to underbake the the loaf. It should have a dry, shiny, cracked surface, and a tester inserted into the thickest portion should come out with a few moist crumbs attached. Serve this banana bread for breakfast or brunch, or even as a simple dessert, topped with a scoop of coffee ice cream.
I've made this as described. I've made it with substitutions. We've eaten it for breakfast. We've eaten it for dessert. No matter how I make it or when we eat it, it's heavenly. For us, it's been the Official Quick Bread of the Pandemic. We've taken to buying bananas in big bunches. We mean to eat them on our cereal, we really do. But after a few days, they start to turn, and we say, Gosh, would you look at that? Our bananas are turning. And we turn the oven to 350...
Cooking With Mary And Friends: Flour Bakery Banana Bread
Made this today and subbed buttermilk for the yogurt because...staying home obviously due to social distancing! I also had to use Cake Flour for the same reason...The Banana Bread was so fabulous!!!! I highly recommend making it and even using the same substitutions! (I usually don't like when reviewers change ingredients in the recipe, but I guess we all have to learn to roll with the cards we have been dealt)
For those of you with too much batter - or overflowing batter - the amount of bananas could be the reason why. A medium banana is 7–8 inches and weighs 118 grams. If you multiply 118 grams by 4 you will know that you need 472 grams of bananas (peeled) for this best banana bread ever. Also, check your oven temp with a thermometer and adjust accordingly. I made the extraordinary chocolate chocolate chip version, no nuts. The best banana bread I’ve ever tasted!
I made muffins with this recipe. Did not add Choc Chips. Did add 1 tsp of baking powder. Filled to the top of the muffin tin and got nice rounded muffins! Bake each pan for 15 min.
