This delicious homemade honey wheat yeast bread recipe is made in the bread machine, meaning preparation is almost hands-free. It's a wonderful bread for sandwiches and toast, with a light sweetness that complements a variety of ingredients. And the aroma of the bread as it bakes will have everyone salivating for a slice. You can also make the dough for dinner rolls instead of a loaf, using the dough cycle on your machine.

You will need to consult the instructions for your bread machine as models can differ in the order in which you add the ingredients. (If you have misplaced the manual, most models have the directions available online, along with instructional videos.)

Honey Buttermilk Whole Wheat Bread Colorado Denver Foodblog German Recipes My Kitchen In The Rockies

This is the Wonder Bread of my childhood dreams. It’s soft, light, and slightly sweet with a beautiful rise and gorgeous crust. Six ingredients and no additives make this the healthiest white bread you can eat, right? I could be talked into making this every week, especially since the bread machine does all the work. —Carrie Parente

You can use the same recipe to make milk and honey dinner rolls. Add the ingredients to your bread machine and use the dough setting. Then remove the dough, divide into 10 to 12 pieces, and shape the dough into rolls on a floured surface. Place the rolls in a pan and let them rise for about 45 minutes or until doubled. Bake the rolls at 375 F for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.

Adding milk to bread dough makes for a richer bread with a velvety texture and softer crust that browns nicely. Milk also adds nutrients and improves the bread's shelf life.

I don't like this at all. It's not the worst. Sure, this will do. I'm a fan—would recommend. Amazing! I love it! Thanks for your rating!

Well I got a bread machine from my mother in law a few years back actually kind of by accident. I found it in her basement and it was brand new in the box just sitting there collecting dust- gasp!! I told her if she didn't have a use for it I would happily take it and use it. So now I am the proud owner of a bread machine and I LOVE this thing let me tell you.

Snowed In With Fresh Baked Bread: Bread Machine Buttermilk Honey Bread

Bread machines are the crock pots for more carbs. You put the ingredients in press a button and wait around for the magic to come out. I will be the first to admit I have a carb problem. I love me some carbs- pastries, donuts, breads, pastas, you name it. The only time I have ever refused carbs was when I was pregnant with my second because I was hoping for a better time with pregnancy the second time around (first time I blew up like a balloon). Well I wound up gaining a lot less and feeling better through the pregnancy sure but I wound up having a big ol' 9 and ½ lb baby boy- Axel. Woah right? And the first thing I ate not 1 hour after that delivery- a loaf of bread with butter and honey. Yesss. Best thing ever. And nothing beats fresh baked bread that's warm and soft and chewy with some butter slowly melting on top. I could eat the whole loaf in the first hour of being out of the oven (and I definitely have).

There are a lot of places to get a bread machine. Places like Target, Wal-Mart, even Bed Bath and Beyond have bread machines. You can even usually find quite a few at the thrift stores BUT make sure to ask an employee to check and make sure it works when plugged in first if you're looking there. Check your mother in laws basement too because you just never know right? I would definitely recommend the Hamilton Beach bread machine if you're looking for a good price which you can find through the link, or the Cuisinart bread machine. Both of those have 12 setting options including gluten free and jam settings- that's right you can make jam in the bread maker- mind blown. It is our favorite thing to have and I definitely wouldn't give it up that's for sure. Homemade bread is everything.

Ok, so this oatmeal honey bread is so so yummy. It is mildly sweet which makes for amazing toast and sandwiches. It's also chewy and fluffy with the texture of the oats just bringing it over the top for goodness.

Add everything in the order your bread machine manufacturer recommends (mine is: wet ingredients, then dry, then yeast last, but yours could be different).

Set the machine on the dough cycle and let it go. We like to bake this bread in the oven. I think it gets a much crispier crust, better shape, and better bake. You can definitely set it to a basic or white bread cycle and leave it alone completely but I really recommend just transferring to the oven for about 30 min instead.

Bake at 350° for 20-30 min or until the crust is golden brown and when you lightly knock on the top, the inside sounds hollow meaning it's done.

Enjoy with butter, jam, honey, cinnamon sugar… etc. It is also amazing as a grilled sandwich with some butter and garlic powder on the outsides. Trust me- so so good! And don't forget to pin and save it for next timeI’m particularly fond of our homemade honey wheat bread that I make in the oven, but whole wheat’s not for everyone. Sometimes you want a light sandwich bread, and the added sweetness of just a bit of honey goes perfectly with packed lunches.

Oatmeal

When my little ones grab up the last piece of bread for their breakfast toast, I can pull out the bread maker and have a fresh loaf on the counter in time for lunch.

Honey Oatmeal Bread (bread Machine Recipe)

I’ve adapted this recipe for bread machine honey wheat bread from The Bread Lover’s Bread Machine Cookbook, which is my absolute favorite bread machine recipe book (and I have quite a few).

While I don’t often have to change their recipes, this one was too dry as it was written and just wouldn’t knead right. I’ve increased the amount of water and milk used, and now it comes out just right.

(I’m baking this as a 2-pound loaf in my Zojirushi Supreme Bread Machine, which makes beautiful horizontal loaves in a pan that uses two paddles for more efficient mixing. I’ve worked with many different machines over the years, and this one’s my favorite. I’ve also included instructions for a 1 1/2-pound loaf if you’re working with a smaller machine or a machine that bakes vertically since they don’t work as well with full-sized loaves. To make an extra small 1-pound loaf, just divide the 2-pound quantities in half.)

Moist And Light Honey Pecan Wholewheat Bread

I’ve included amounts for both a 1 1/2-pound loaf and a 2-pound loaf, as those are the most common bread machine sizes. If you have a 1-pound machine, just cut the 2-pound quantities in half.

Honey

For the flour, you can use either all-purpose white or white bread flour, and both will work well. I tend to use King Arthur Flour All Purpose because that’s what I have on hand in bulk.

If you use bread flour, you may need to add a tablespoon of extra water at the beginning, just watch the dough as it starts to knead and make sure it’s coming together nicely. Bread flour tends to help a bread rise better, and creates a firmer crumb that will hold up better to cutting (without falling apart). This recipe works well with all purposes and cuts just fine without falling apart, but bread flour would come out a bit fluffier because it’s higher gluten and would help hold the air pockets as it rises.
