Breadmaker Cheese And Onion Bread Recipe

This is the kind of bread that is so good, it needs no accompaniment to be enjoyed. Sure, you can dip it in soup or make a sandwich out of it (I encourage both), but if you’re in a rush, it’s also good all on its lonesome. No butter required to make this slice sing! Gently crispy exterior, light, fluffy middle.

The onions in this recipe are properly caramelized- no short cuts this time. The results are easy, but time consuming, but I promise they are worth the effort. Sweet, flavourful, melt-in-your-mouth. I knead the caramelized onions directly into the dough in this recipe, so the entire loaf is lightly fragrant, without falling apart when it is sliced.

Cheese, of course, because in my humble opinion, cheese makes almost anything better. It doesn’t hurt that cheddar and onion is such a classic combination, you might say they pair together like… peanut butter and pickles. No? No one else really digs that combo? Fine. Peanut butter and jelly.

Fine. I’ll go to work. But I really do need to make some of that soup- and soon- before I finish the rest of this bread. Otherwise, I’ll end up making the soup and having no bread left and then having to make more bread, and then make more soup and then… you know what? Nevermind. I’m totally okay with this neverending Slow-Roasted Soup and Cheddar Onion Bread scenario. It sounds amazing. The ratio of cheese and onion is perfect. The taste of each is present, but not overwhelming. Another benefit to this recipe is the great aroma the entire time it’s baking. I will definitely make cheese and onion bread again! ~ Tammy

Cheese, Oat & Spring Onion Soda Bread Recipe

We love bread . . . especially homemade bread. I grew up with a strong tradition of home baked bread as the only kind of bread I ate for years. After John and I married I finally asked my mom to teach me how to make her homemade bread. After I finally gained some proficiency in the art of bread-making, I made it a lot for our family.

There is nothing like a thick slab of homemade bread toasted for breakfast. Or sunny-side-up eggs over top. I like it made into cinnamon toast, or broiled with butter and then lots of juicy jams or preserves slathered over the top. I also used to toast it a lot and add peanut butter and fluff and make these humongous and very delicious sandwiches.

Home made bread is simply heavenly. The smells of baking bread wafting through the house are so wonderful. I have to admit to being quite a bit of a “smell” person. I love beautiful smells. (Keep me away from anything stinky though!!!!) This Cheese ‘N Onion Bread smells divine while baking and it tastes just as great.

Cheddar Cheese And Garlic Spelt Bread

Cheese ‘N Onion Bread is quite dense in texture so you can do a lot with it other than just eating it plain. Consider placing slices of bread on a large cookie sheet and spreading the pieces with sliced or shredded cheese and herbs like parsley, minced garlic, chives, dill weed, or thyme, and toasting in your oven for a few minutes. Yummy!

You can also spoon some leftover spaghetti sauce over top and then sprinkle with mozzarella cheese and bake for about 5-10 minutes. This is a great bread to have fun with.

I recently remade this recipe for a luncheon I was hostessing at our church (February 2015). I remade this tasty dinner bread and it was a hit. Every slice was scooped up quickly, but not before I got a few new pictures. 🙂
