I made this no yeast naan recipe about a year ago and totally forgot about it. I made it again and OMG! This is so fluffy and comes together in under 30 minutes!

This easy and fast yogurt naan bread is a great addition to serve next to your favorite soup or curry. The ingredients are so basic and simple, you can never go wrong with them.

Let me tell you how shocked I was when I made it the first time. Honestly, I didn't expect this to be delicious at all. The dough doesn't look very smooth, but when you cook it, magic happens.

Easy Homemade Naan Bread (no Yeast, 2 Ingredients)

Since I discovered this recipe, I made this no yeast naan bread so many times. It's pretty similar to pita bread and takes no time to make and so little effort compared to yeasted naan or bread making.

Before you start to make this 3 ingredient flatbread recipe, measure and prepare your ingredients so the cooking process will go smoothly and easily.

Yogurt- the second ingredient in this recipe is yogurt. Any kind of unsweetened yogurt will work great. We used basic Greek yogurt.

The Fluffiest Easy Vegan Flatbread (skillet Naan)

In a medium mixing bowl, add the flour, yogurt, and baking powder. Add the salt (optional) and mix with a wooden spoon.

Heat up a pan to medium-high heat for 3 minutes. When hot, place the dough and let it cook for each side for about 2-3 minutes, or until the dough gets dark brown spots and bubbles form. Serve hot with melted butter and parsley on top.

There are many options to enjoy naan flatbread. Some people like to serve it as is with homemade curry, some like to enjoy it as a wrap, and some like to enjoy it as a sandwich with salads, eggs, kebabs, or even chocolate spread!  

No Yeast Naan Bread Recipe

Yes, place the ingredients in the stand mixer and mix on low speed for 1 minute, then increase the speed to high and mix for another 3-5 minutes.

If you have leftovers for more than 3 days, I recommend freezing the pitas to keep them fresh when you reheat them.

Reheat this in the microwave for 30 seconds or in the toaster oven or oven that is preheated to 180c (350f) for 3-5 minutes until it's warm and soft.

No Knead Grilled Naan

After cooking the naan flatbread, let it cool completely and freeze them in an airtight container for up to 3 months. When ready to use, defrost at room temperature for 30 minutes and reheat in a toaster oven for 2-3 minutes.

Herbs- add your favorite herbs by washing them thoroughly, drying them well, and chopping them. Add them to the dough for a delicious addition of flavor.

Vegan Naan Bread

While traditional naan bread tends to be coated in oil or butter, my version is healthier than the original and virtually fat-free!

Making naan bread from scratch is SO simple. As it contains no yeast, it literally takes less than 10 minutes to make a batch!

In a large mixing bowl, you’ll want to combine your flour, salt (if using it) and Greek yogurt and mix until combined. If you like, use your hands to mix in the dough until fully incorporated. Form a big ball of dough.

Then, you’ll lightly flour a wooden or kitchen surface. Sprinkle a little extra flour on the ball of dough, and transfer onto the floured surface. Press the ball of dough into a circular shape and cut into 8 even pieces. Flatten each piece of dough, and form a rough, oblong shape.

Finally, you will heat a large non-stick pan on medium heat. When hot, place one piece of naan dough onto the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes, before flipping and cooking for another 2 minutes. Repeat until all the dough has been used up and 8 naan bread remains!

While Greek yogurt is the only kind of yogurt that works well (including vegan Greek yogurt) there IS another alternative for Greek yogurt that can be used.

Homemade No Yeast Garlic Butter Naan Recipe

Sour cream works in the same way Greek yogurt does, as it is thick and holds together. You can substitute the Greek yogurt with sour cream.

To refrigerate: You should avoid refrigerating the uncooked dough, as it will become stickier the longer it sits. You will need to add extra flour to make it durable to form into naan bread.

To freeze: Cooked naan bread is freezer friendly. Place the naan bread in a ziplock bag. They will keep fresh frozen for up to 6 months.

Naan is a type of leavened flatbread, eaten primarily in India and Western and Central Asia. It's a popular side dish and often served along with curries, soups or meat dishes.

This easy naan recipe is super quick and easy to make and only requires 7 ingredients. There's no special equipment needed aside from a large mixing bowl and a rolling pin.

STEP 1: Activate the yeast. For the yeast to do its trick it needs to be activated. Dissolve the yeast and ½ teaspoon of sugar in warm water (not hot) using a whisk.
