Bread Machine Garlic Cheese Bread Recipe

This Parmesan Garlic Bread is made in a bread machine and it comes out so moist and flavorful that you can eat it plain, no butter required! It is cheesy, herby, garlicky and buttery right out of the pan. Your kitchen is also going to smell mouthwateringly delicious!

Does using a bread machine make me lazy? Nope. I have better things to do, like making some yummy soup to go with the bread. Using the bread machine requires little to no effort and the result is a fresh, warm and delicious bakery-style loaf of bread. I love it! Feel free to slather on some butter or dip it in oil, but it really does taste awesome all by itself. This parmesan garlic bread is also great for making sandwiches and paninis or pairing with a soup or salad.

First, add the water, olive oil, melted butter and minced garlic to the bread pan. I microwaved the butter in a small microwave-safe bowl for 30 seconds. Then, add all of the dry ingredients, except for the yeast, to the bread pan. Finally, make a small depression into the flour with your finger and add the dry yeast to the depression. Make sure you do not allow the yeast to come in contact with any liquids.

Select the basic setting on the bread machine and press start. My bread machine took 3 hours and 45 minutes. I also selected the “light” crust option on my bread machine but I normally select “medium”. The difference was that the top of the loaf was lighter and softer. You can choose based on your personal crust preference.

Once the bread is finished, allow it to cool for 10 minutes. You have bakery-worthy garlic bread without hardly any effort. Enjoy!

Thanks for visiting my site. I am so excited to share all of my food creations and tips on finding “the sum” of all things yummy! Read more…I’ve been using my bread machine at least a couple of times a week currently, largely due to the current limitations on certain things you can buy right now. Thankfully I’ve had a pretty steady stream of flour and with my handy-dandy bread machine, well… the sky is the limit!

I decided to get crafty this time around and instead of making a plain jane loaf, I made a pull-apart loaf that didn’t stop there. This pull-apart bread also has layers of cheese, garlic, and herbs tucked in between each pull-and-peel piece of warm fresh homemade bread.

You’ll want to make note that I’ve listed some of the ingredients in more than one format. That’s because I’ve found that going by weight rather than cups when it comes to baking bread tends to work out better in the end.

You could probably get away with making this bread without a bread machine if you have the time and know-how when it comes to yeast. I have yet to master that myself so… for now I’ll stick with allowing the machine to do the most of the work for me.

Place the ingredients for the bread dough into the base of a bread machine in the order indicated by your particular bread machine.Mine goes into my bread machine exactly as it’s listed.Set the machine to the ‘dough’ cycle. Once the dough cycle has ended, preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. and lightly coat the inside of a 9”x5” loaf pan with non-stick baking spray; set aside.Turn the dough out onto a well floured surface and roll it out with a rolling pin to be about 18”x18” square. Spread the 1 Tbsp. butter over the dough. Sprinkle with the 2 minced garlic cloves, 1 Tbsp. basil, 1 1/2 Tsp. rosemary and 1 1/2 Tsp. oregano. Finally, top with the shredded cheese and cut into about 16 ‘squares’. Carefully layer the squares on top of one another and place them into the prepared loaf pan. Allow to rise once again until at least doubled in size. Place the pan into the oven to bake for about 30 minutes. Check in on the bread at the 30 minute mark and cover with foil lightly if the bread is starting to brown too much on top. Continue to bake for about 10 minutes or until the bread has cooked through completely. Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before removing from the loaf pan. Serve warm or store in a cool dry place until ready to enjoy!
