But on to the food! Today we’re alllll about this healthier chocolate chip banana bread! I love recipes that work for multiple meals of the day. Since it’s just Kyle and I, we had a huge loaf of banana bread to ourselves and I’ve eaten this for breakfast, snacks, and dessert! It’s delicious all hours of the day and I kept finding myself going back to nibble and just cut off a tiiiinyy bite more.

Healthy Chocolate Chip Banana Bread — Lala's Plate

I made this healthier chocolate chip  banana bread on a lazy Sunday morning and I think that’s my own personal heaven. The house is quiet, I’m sippin’ on my morning latte, and everything feels nice and slow.

To be honest, I won’t expecting it to turn out that great when I whipped up the recipe since butter usually makes my world go wrong and this banana bread has ZERO in it. Partly because I wanted to make it healthier and partly because we were all out of butter and sometimes a trip to the grocery store is just too much effort. But YOU GUYS. So yummy! Kyle and I practically inhaled it and I bought a big batch of bananas to make it again soon.

My banana bread baking has always been dictated by the state of my bananas. Banana bread always tastes the best when you use super ripe, browning bananas. They’re extra sweet and mushy and can we just say a big thank you to the universe for giving us such a delicious way to use those ‘nanners instead of trashing them?!

Paleo Vegan Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

What I love about this recipe is that it genuinely has all that same delicious flavor of “normal” banana bread and isn’t dry thanks to the bananas, apple sauce, and coconut oil. It’s also hearty, so when you eat it, you’re left feeling more satiated. I personally love adding walnuts to my banana bread, but left it as optional in this recipe since I know a lot of people prefer not to have that extra crunch or don’t love nuts!Add Chocolate Chips to banana bread and you will get this amazing Healthy Chocolate Chip Banana Bread recipe that is made with oatmeal and whole wheat flour. Super moist, so delicious, and the best part?  It’s very easy to make.

This Healthy chocolate chip banana bread recipe makes about 12-14 slices depending on how big of a slice you cut. They are super moist, fluffy, so tasty and so easy to make. My kids love adding a drizzle of honey to their slice but it’s certainly optional. Once you have these you won’t be able to stop at one slice. It is great to have for breakfast the next day or perfect for a nice healthy treat that will be filling and satisfying.

Healthy

The aroma that comes out of the oven when baking this Healthy Chocolate Chip Banana Bread is going to make you drool. I love all kinds of banana bread. I actually prefer it without chocolate chips but my kids love chocolate so we add those.
