Hi, I have just tried this recipe for the first time and carefully followed it through. I used all the same ingredients but when I came to mix the dry with the wet it was as dry as a bone! I did add more water but wasn't sure how much it can be played with at that late stage. It doesn't even look like it's rising at the moment (the yeast was definitely activated) and I feel disappointed as gluten free ingredients are not cheap and I could end up throwing the whole thing away.

Buckwheat Sourdough Loaf Gluten Free Vegan Recipe By Fresh Is Real

I can't tell what went wrong, can you be more specific what kind of gluten free flours you used, and if you combined flax seeds and psyllium husk with wet ingredients first... it clearly shouldn't look dry when ready.

I made this and did not use the rice flour for the GF mix, but just equal amounts cassava and sorghum. Then I used just one cup GF flour, and 3/4 c quick oats. Turned out great. Not quite as pretty as yours but so delicious! texture is really good! Best gluten free bread I've tried! Thanks for the recipe!! And it's so easy to make!

Hi! I made this recipe exactly as written, without the egg. The dough was very dry and crumbly. Is it possible that it needs more than the amount of water listed? It seems like the other commenters had a similar issue. Thank you!

Easy Gluten Free Bread Recipe (gluten Free Sandwich Bread)

Hi Sarah! If you skip the egg you need to figure out what other liquid ingredient you can replace it with that has similar texture. It turned out dry because you took out the moisture the egg was providing. Usually in vegan baking the egg is replaced with applesauce, vegan yogurt or a mix of water in flax seeds.

I followed your recipe completely the only thing changed was oat flour instead of sorghum flour. When I went to mix it all together the dough was so dry I had to add more water. It was not wet and sticky. Any ideas why? ThanksThis super easy buckwheat bread is incredibly soft, fluffy and tender, and tastes delicious with a texture and look that’s uncannily similar to whole wheat bread! Totally gluten-free and dairy-free too, but you wouldn’t even know!

Buckwheat Bread (vegan, Gluten Free)

Of all the baked goods that one could possibly make, my heart belongs firmly to homemade bread. Whether quick breads or yeasted breads, it doesn’t really matter. Whether made in a loaf pan or freeform artisan bread doesn’t really matter either.

Baking yeast breads in particular has become a form of therapy. I just love the thrill of mixing the dough together, watching it rise as it doubles in size, then sending it off to the oven to bake. When I pull open the oven door, and the warmth of the oven and aroma of freshly baked bread hits me in the face, I feel like I’ve got a glimpse of bread heaven.
