Easy Homemade Focaccia (no Yeast)

The best thing about this bread is it’s made in one bowl, no heavy kneading needed and of course no rising time.

In a large bowl whisk together the flour, sugar, salt and baking powder. Then add the water and mix together, either with a fork or spatula.Sprinkle a flat surface with a little flour, place the dough on top and knead until smooth.

Gently flatten with the palm of your hand into an oval shape, then fold like an envelope. Sprinkle with flour if needed.

Bread should be cooled on a wire rack and not in the pan because the loaf will become moist, soggy, and sponge-like quite quickly, because the moisture in the pan condenses onto the bread. So be sure to immediately move the bread to a wire rack to cool.

I have no idea why this bread will work some and not for others, it could be the oven temperature, it might be off, it could be the type of flour used in different countries, even the water, . All I know is it works for me, other readers (and no the comments aren’t fake) and it also works for my daughter (as per the video). Thanks! 🙂

Yogurt Bread (no Oven ,no Yeast ) Recipe By Swathi Joshnaa Sathish At Betterbutter

I've popped down a simple garlic butter that tastes great slathered on top of the flatbreads when they're fresh off the frying pan.  This is entirely optional and not necessary, but adds a little something more if you're entertaining.  Just be sure to not cook the flatbreads with the garlic butter on them - the garlic tends to burn.

Naan and flatbread look similar and you could easily think they were both the same thing.  But there is a difference between the two and that difference lies in one important ingredient - yeast!

Traditionally flatbread is made without yeast, which is also known as an unleavened bread.  Naan bread, on the other hand, is made with yeast and is a leavened bread.

Ingredient No Yeast Bread

Both breads can be used in a similar fashion and both taste delicious.  If you're worried about using yeast or just looking for something super quick and easy, flatbreads the best way to go.

Place Greek yoghurt in a mixing bowl and give it a stir. Add in 1 cup of flour and stir to combine. Gradually add in more flour until the dough starts to form into a ball.

Tip the dough onto a well-floured surface and knead with your hands for a minute or two. If the dough is still too sticky, add some more flour and continue to knead. The dough is ready when it is able to hold it’s shape and is not sticking to your hands or the surface.

Bagel Recipe (easy No Yeast Yogurt Dough)

Divide the dough into 6 even parts.  Lightly grease a clean work surface with olive oil then use a rolling pin to roll each ball of dough out into rounds approximately the size of a saucer.  Flip your dough to ensure both sides get covered in oil.  Drizzle more oil on the surface as needed.

Heat a skillet or frying pan on medium heat.  Once the pan is hot, add a flatbread and cook each side for 20-30 seconds, until cooked through and covered in brown spots.  Repeat with the remaining flatbread.

If you're wanting to use the optional garlic butter, simply mix the butter and garlic together then brush over the flatbreads as soon as they come out of the frying pan.

Traditional naan bread is a staple bread in many East Asian countries, like India and Sri Lanka. It’s leavened and most often baked in the oven.

In this recipe, we don’t bake the naan bread but instead, dry fry it (pan fry it without oil). This makes is SO much quicker.

Naan Bread (the Best Recipe!)

Depending on where in the world you are and how you make your naan bread, it can be healthy. More often than not, it is what you eat WITH the naan bread that can tip it in the direction of unhealthy.

While traditional naan bread tends to be coated in oil or butter, my version is healthier than the original and virtually fat-free!

Making naan bread from scratch is SO simple. As it contains no yeast, it literally takes less than 10 minutes to make a batch!

How To Make Stovetop Naan (quick & Easy)

In a large mixing bowl, you’ll want to combine your flour, salt (if using it) and Greek yogurt and mix until combined. If you like, use your hands to mix in the dough until fully incorporated. Form a big ball of dough.

Then, you’ll lightly flour a wooden or kitchen surface. Sprinkle a little extra flour on the ball of dough, and transfer onto the floured surface. Press the ball of dough into a circular shape and cut into 8 even pieces. Flatten each piece of dough, and form a rough, oblong shape.

Finally, you will heat a large non-stick pan on medium heat. When hot, place one piece of naan dough onto the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes, before flipping and cooking for another 2 minutes. Repeat until all the dough has been used up and 8 naan bread remains!

Oatmeal Bread (no Yeast & No Knead!)

While Greek yogurt is the only kind of yogurt that works well (including vegan Greek yogurt) there IS another alternative for Greek yogurt that can be used.

Sour cream works in the same way Greek yogurt does, as it is thick and holds together. You can substitute the Greek yogurt with sour cream.

To refrigerate: You should avoid refrigerating the uncooked dough, as it will become stickier the longer it sits. You will need to add extra flour to make it durable to form into naan bread.
