Breakfast Naan Bread Recipe

This crowd-pleasing breakfast pizza is a delicious new way to start the day! Make it happen in just a quick 10 minutes by using naan bread as your dough. It’s simple yet full of flavor, and perfect for weekend brunching!

Pizza for breakfast is always a good idea. If you’ve never had such a thing as a breakfast pizza, you’re in for a treat! It’s basically a cheesy crust with a runny egg baked on top, and lots of flavorful toppings. I love serving this up on the weekend for brunch.

Naan

Using naan bread in this recipe is the definition of SIMPLE. You won’t need to create or use any pizza dough. Just purchase either white or whole wheat naan bread at your local grocery store, pack on the ingredients, and bake!

French Onion Breakfast Naan Flatbread

You’ll need just 8 minutes for baking and several minutes to prepare it all. It’s that simple and is even more flavorful with all the toppings included!

You’ll need just a handful of ingredients to make these pizzas happen. Here’s everything you’ll need: eggs, naan bread, mozzarella cheese, parmesan cheese, everything seasoning, avocado, cilantro, and hot sauce (optional).

Line the mozzarella cheese around the bread, leaving an opening in the center for the egg. Create a “wall” with the cheese to prevent the egg whites from spilling out. Crack the egg and carefully place in the center.

Sprinkle over top with parmesan cheese and everything bagel seasoning. Then bake uncovered for 8 minutes, broil on HIGH for 30 additional seconds to brown the cheese. Egg should be slightly runny.

Avoid a runny egg mess: in a couple of recipe tests, I noticed it was easy for the egg whites to escape the pizza and get all over the pan. To avoid this, create a “nest” with the cheese around the naan bread. So when you crack the egg, it is kept in place and can’t run off the bread.

Different naan breads to use: you can use white naan or make it healthier and use whole wheat naan. I’ve also found garlic flavored naan at my local whole foods which is just as tasty!

Extra toppings: you can also top this pizza with chopped cooked bacon, fresh salsa, fresh chopped basil, dried oregano, red pepper flakes, and basil pesto.

One egg per naan: I try not to overload the naan breads because if they are too packed, the egg whites usually run off and it can get pretty messy. Try to keep it one egg per naan bread (depending on the size of course).

Do I have to use everything seasoning? If it’s available at your local grocery, I recommend it because it’s an all-in-one seasoning. A lot of grocery stores have it in the seasoning section. If you don’t have it available, then sprinkle onion flakes & garlic powder with some sesame seeds or poppy seeds if desired.

Naan

I remember my first experience with naan bread was actually baking pizzas on them. Since then, of course I always eat fresh naan alongside dishes like Chickpea Curry or of course, my favorite Easy Chicken Tikka Masala but….my heart still holds a special place for naan pizzas!

First off, can we just talk about how we get to have pizza for breakfast?! Is that not just the best thing ever or is it just me?

Breakfast Naan Pizza Recipe

I love how EASY these Cheesy Naan Breakfast Pizzas are! No homemade pizza dough or sauce required! There’s no kneading, no food processing..just EASY. That’s what we all need in the morning, right?

You know, when you can barely even turn on the coffee pot without tripping over shoes you forgot to put up. Or maybe you accidentally fell asleep with your contacts in and you literally feel like your eyes will never be back to normal. Yeah, an easy morning sounds good to me.

Did I mention the flavors are dynamite? Seriously, I could already eat Garlic Herb Naan on it’s own (probably too many pieces…) but once you load it with all of the breakfast goods, the flavors fuse together and you come out with this caramelized, cheesy goodness with the fresh veggies and yummy breakfast meat that will leave you satisfied allll morning long.

Naan Breakfast Pizza (quick + Easy!)

I love the savory spicy breakfast sausage that adds SO much flavor. The cheese of course, I mean, HELLO! The crunchy red onion and of course, fresh jalapeno if you like it spicy! But my favorite thing has to be the buttery fried egg on top!

The fried egg on top creates this runny liquid golden yolk that covers the entire pizza and oh my worddddd it’s GOOD.

Breakfast

And I really mean that. This is coming from a girl who needs to eat probably every 2 hours. This meal will definitely keep you full all the way up to lunch!

Egg And Feta Breakfast Naan

Preheat the oven to 475 degrees. While that’s pre-heating, cooking your sausage in a pan until done. Drain if necessary and set this aside. While you wait, slice your toppings! I used red onion and jalapeno!

Once the oven is preheated, add a piece of garlic naan bread to a baking sheet. Drizzle with 1 tbsp of olive oil. Top with 1/3 cup of cheese. Add your cooked sausage and toppings. Add more cheese to the toppings. Bake for 8-10 minutes. Garnish with fresh basil and red pepper flakes!

Once the pizza is done, crack an egg in a skillet with lots of butter. Cook until the whites are cooked through and then gently slide the egg on top of the pizza.

Overnight Naan Bread French Toast

*This recipe originally gave instructions to cook the raw egg in with the pizza but I found after re-testing it that the pizza crust burnt too quickly before the egg could fully cook – so I altered the instructions!*

I must say, the best thing about this naan pizza is the egg. Yes, the glorious runny, salty and delicious egg. When you slice the pizza, the egg yolk runs and you’re able to just soak it up using the crust and oh my lanta it’s a glorious experience. It will truly make your morning a million times better.

These would be perfect in the morning or whenever you’re feeling breakfast for dinner vibes. You could also make a couple for brunch on the weekend. Just don’t forget to serve with mimosas! 🙂 XO – Haylie
