Panera Bread Recipe For Breakfast Souffle

I’ve found your new favorite breakfast, Panera Bread Ham and Swiss Souffle Recipe. Start the day off right with savory baked eggs and cheese in a flaky crust!

We don’t have a Panera Bread in the town that I live in. I tried their Ham and Swiss Souffle just a couple of years ago. Prior to that, I would always get something sweet for breakfast when we visited one. I have been obsessed with this omelet-type breakfast since the very first bite that I had.

PANERA

I have literally been wanting to duplicate the recipe for a year now. But, I kept thinking it was going to be complex and time-consuming and just never got down to the nitty-gritty of planning the recipe.

Panera Egg Soufflé Recipe

Oh my…. I am so glad I finally did. Let me make one thing clear, this is not a hard or difficult recipe to make. In fact, it comes together really quickly just as easy as biscuits, pancakes, waffles, or any other breakfast to make!

I started with puff pastry, because who really ever wants to make puff pastry from scratch? In a pinch, you could use crescent rolls, but they won’t be as flaky.

Panera Bread’s egg souffle are one of my very favorite foods! For me, that’s odd, because most of my favorite foods are desserts!

Before I made Copycat Panera Bread Ham and Swiss Egg Souffle’ I was intimidated by the process. Souffle has a bad rap as being finicky and difficult to make. I researched other Panera Bread Copycat recipes and almost all of them microwaved the eggs for a few seconds. (The recipes were also all VERY similar. 🧐) Anywho, microwaving eggs then baking them just sounded weird to me. I went in a different direction with my recipe and created more of a traditional egg souffle adding extra ingredients to make it more like Panera Bread.

Made 4 Of These For The Same Cost As One From Panera: Spinach And Artichoke

The Ham and Swiss Egg Souffle was a hit with the family. As well, it was NOT difficult to make. Of course, I used a premade puffed pastry as the crust. I have no desire to make puffed pastry from scratch. You can use refrigerated crescent roll dough for the crust but it won’t be as flaky and it won’t be as close to the Panera Bread’s souffle.

Egg souffle really isn’t any harder to make than biscuits or waffles and once you get the hang of it you’ll make whipping them up on the regular.

Easy Egg Souffle Recipes: Tasty Takes On The Famous Panera Egg Souffle

She planned out the whole weekend with special meals, things to do, she even put little treat bags on our pillows! One of my favorite things we did that weekend was cook together! My mom and her friend Karen love Panera’s egg souffles. They have been experimenting for months trying to recreate the breakfast dish and finally found a winner!

We made their Spinach and Artichoke Egg Souffles and had such a fun time making them! They take about 30 minutes to make and cook.

There are a couple of things that make this recipe easier to create. The first is that we used pre-packaged spinach artichoke dip from Costco. The second is that for the crust we used a puff pastry sheet!

Panera Bread New Breakfast Souffle And Las Potrancas

Another thing that I think makes this recipe even better than Panera’s version is that our souffles are fluffier and taller. The Panera version is pretty flat. You can see the difference in the pictures. The serving size is 4 LARGE souffles. If you want to use smaller souffle dishes, you can make 6-8 smaller souffles. It just depends on the size of your dishes.

These egg souffles look so impressive but are easy to make. They are the perfect weekend brunch centerpiece. You butter the ramekins before you put the puff pastry in, so they pop right out of the ramekins and you can serve them on a plate.
